EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The Evansville Fire Department responded to a garage fire just after 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening on west Columbia Street.

Officials tell us the call was dispatched at 6:06 p.m. with the first crew arriving at 6:08 p.m.

They had the fire tapped out within ten minutes.

The garage is total loss. The owner says he was in the process of cleaning it out.

Officials have rule the cause as arson. They say it appears to have started in the alley.
