There is help, EVSC, St. Mary's Health System, ECHO Community Health, and the Vanderburgh County Health Department are coming together to help parents with some of those back to school costs.
"We offer free sports physicals, back-to-school physicals for kids in Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grade, immunizations, dental screenings," says Carol Collier-Smith, the Chief Operations Director at Echo Health Care.

"This year we have around 100 spots available and about 85 are open," says Eric Girten, Director of St. Mary's Community Outreach.
Children qualify as long as they are in Kindergarten, 6th or 9th grade, a Vanderburgh, Posey or Warrick County resident and as long as insurance doesn't cover these costs.
"The need is tremendous, in fact, that's why we chose to do it on a Saturday, to increase the opportunity for working families," says Collier-Smith.
Also new this year, Spanish interpreters will be on hand for parents with a language barrier and free dental screenings.
"We have a pediatric dentist that's agreed to spend the day doing brief dental evaluations," says Girten.
Collier-Smith says it's all about helping the community.
"This eliminates all that worry and having all the services under one roof at one time."
