(RNN) – Henry Hill, the mobster whose life was dramatized in the movie Goodfellas, reportedly died Tuesday.
TMZ reported Hill, 69, had "been sick for a long time," according to an interview with his girlfriend, Lisa. According to the entertainment news website, he died while in a Los Angeles hospital.
Lisa also said Hill recently had been working on mending relationships with family members. He had become a regular in public, including multiple appearances on the Howard Stern Show.
Hill's story of a member of the Lucchese crime family turned FBI informant was documented in the book Wiseguy. That story was later turned into the 1990 Martin Scorsese movie starring Ray Liotta as Hill and Robert De Niro.
