At a city council meeting on Monday night, the city council overrode the mayors veto on a resolution.
The non-binding resolution passed by the council back in May asking for the 79 Allied workers to return to work while negotiations were underway between the union and Allied Waste.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke vetoed the resolution by not signing it. With a seven to zero vote, the city council overrode the veto.
With the resolution non-binding, it can't force Allied Waste to let workers return.
