HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

It was reported early Saturday morning to authorities that someone had stolen thousands of dollars worth of church property from New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church in Spottsville.

Henderson County Sheriff's Deputies say the call came at about 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning. When deputies arrived, they discovered someone had broken and entered the church through a window.

Authorities say the perpetrators primarily stole musical instruments and a switchboard belonging to the church. They say the total value of the stolen items is over $2,000.

Henderson Sheriff's Deputy Chris Keller says they are simply waiting to receive serial numbers for the products from the church.

"From talking to the members of the church, some of the ones that were the last to be in the building, it happened over, I believe, the last three to four days," Keller said.

Keller also says that it is common for thieves like this to take those stolen items and sell them to pawn shops, and for that reason, they will be keeping a close eye on those local businesses.
