EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An Evansville Police Officer says that on Wednesday night, a drunk driver had the highest blood alcohol level he's ever seen.

Police say 32-year-old Cheryl Weis was pulled over on Wednesday at Fifth and Dresden Street.

The officer says she failed several sobriety tests and blew a .44 in a portable breath test. That's five and half times the legal limit.

Weis was not taken to jail because inmates are not accepted if their blood alcohol level is about .3.

She was taken to the hospital and police say she'll be summoned to court for a drunk driving charge.
