EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

On the 68th anniversary of D-Day, a local company is honoring one of it's World War II vets.

Carl Mann, 89, was in the second wave on Omaha Beach in Normandy for D-Day, and was one of the few that survived.

"First Sergeant said there'd be no food tonight, only ammo coming up. We are going to kick off tomorrow morning at five o'clock, our little attack," Mann recalled.

Lucent Polymers honored Carl with a luncheon, where they heard him share his experience.
