UNION CO., KY (WFIE) -

In Union County, the Sheriff's Office says four juveniles will face arson charges in the fire that burned Uncle Mark's Popcorn Factory to the ground.

Friday, 14 News talked with Donnie Greenwell, the factory's owner. He says he has a good relationship with the neighborhood kids and doesn't think they tried to harm his building.

That fire started around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night and it's still smoldering Friday.

The Sheriff tells us the investigation revealed the kids meant to start a fire near the factory, but had no intention of burning down the building.

Greenwell also owns Greenwell Homes. He says a few of those kids' parents rent from him and he has good relationships with those families.

"I've always had a good rapport with those people. I've got kids or parents, you know, families that I rent to that are a whole lot worse, I'm sure. These kids are always polite. You know, I'd had a complaint or two on them but kids are kids," Greenwell said.

The Sheriff's Office says those four kids are facing third degree Arson charges and once officially charged, they'll appear in juvenile court.
