Domestic call turns into armed stand-off

Posted: Updated:
PETERSBURG, IN (WFIE) -

On Sunday night, Pike County Deputies and Petersburg Police were sent to the 2800 block of North County Road 700 on a domestic call. They were told a man with a gun was threatening to kill his wife in front of a 6-year-old child.

When they arrived they were able to take two women and the child into safety but the man, 34-year-old Michael A. Page barricaded himself inside his home with four guns.

During negotiations Page relinquished three firearms by throwing them out the front door.

Authorities, comprised of the Pike County and Knox County Special Response Teams, made the decision to enter the home.

They found Page on the floor. He was dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
