A serious motorcycle accident in Evansville on Saturday night sent two people to the hospital, one with possible life-threatening injuries.

Police say 22-year-old Tyler Norrenbrock was on his motorcycle driving southbound on I-164 near State Road 66 when a large wooden pallet slid off of a truck in front of him.

Both Norrenbrock and his passenger 21-year-old Jessica Whetstine were thrown from the bike.

Police say Norrenbrock suffered injuries to his arm and shoulder, and Whetstine suffered injuries to her head.

At last check, Norrenbrock is listed in stable condition and Whetstine is in critical condition.

Southbound lanes of I-164 were closed for some time while crews cleared the scene. Both were taken to St. Mary's Hospital.

Evansville Police is asking that people take a look at a picture of the pallet that was involved in the accident. Police say witnesses now report seeing a red or maroon pick up truck loaded with pallets near the time of the accident. If you recognize anything about the pallet, call police. or if you know anything about the truck, call 436-7979.

Officers don't think the shipping label found near the scene is a clue in the case.
