A Reds pitcher was arrested in Grove City early Monday morning.

Aroldis Chapman was pulled over around 12:40 a.m. after officers say they clocked him driving at 93 miles per hour on northbound I-71.

Officers say Chapman was headed to the Columbus airport to pick up his girlfriend.

Police then discovered Chapman was driving under a suspended driver's license.

Officers told FOX19 that Chapman's license had only been suspended for about a week and it is possible that he wasn't aware of the suspension. Officers say they can't be completely sure because of the language barrier.

Chapman was arrested and taken to the Grove City Police Department where he was cited for speeding and driving under suspension.

Police say his girlfriend bonded him out and drove him back to Cincinnati.

FOX19 has exclusively obtained his Kentucky, Florida and Arizona driving records and found he received six tickets within 21 months. Since Chapman didn't appear in court in Miami for a speeding ticket, Florida suspended his license just last week.

Chapman was at Great American Ballpark on Monday. He is scheduled to appear in the Grove City Mayor's Court at 2:30 p.m. on June 6.
