OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -
On Monday, Kentucky State Police charged 19-year-old Cody Carter of Owensboro with 50 counts of Possession of Matter Portraying Sex Performance by a Minor.
The investigation was initiated while officers from Operation Yellow Banks, which consists of the Kentucky State Police, the Owensboro Police Department, the Daviess County Sheriff's Department, the U.S. Marshals Office, the Kentucky Probation and Parole and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, were checking area sex offenders for compliance.
Carter, who is not a registered sex offender, does reside with a registered sex offender. As officers were verifying compliance, a computer and cell phone were checked and images of minors performing sex acts were discovered on both devices. The computer and cell phone were seized.
Carter was charged and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.
