TRI-STATE (WFIE) -

They made a promise never to forget, and Patriot Guard members say they're keeping that promise.

Members rode over 100 miles on Sunday, paying tribute to members of the military who have died on September 11. The group first held a service honoring fallen soldiers at the American Red Cross and then made several stops at cemeteries in Warrick, Dubois, and Perry Counties to pay tribute. There, the group laid wreaths and flags for seven fallen members of the military.

"And at each ceremony we typically set a wreath, individuals present set flags, then we do a short eulogy for each individual. Then we play taps and that's generally the entire service," said senior ride captain Rick Williams.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross also road along with the Patriot Guard carrying water for the riders, but also carrying the wreathes and flags.
