Hanson, KY -
It was a trip down memory lane for some past Hopkins County students.
The Hanson Elementary third grade Class of 1987 dug up a time capsule of items they buried 25 years ago.
Items dug up Friday included a newspaper from that day, old action figures, and even cabbage patch kids.
Around 20 members of that 3rd grade class of 1987 attended Fridays event.
Some of the 2012 graduates shared with the audience what they thought might have been popular back in '87 in the way of music, sports, and technology.
Many of the graduates were a bit surprised with what they put in the time capsule, and some say they don't even remember what they put in 25 years ago, but the class of '87 says they're glad they had a chance to spend Friday with the current graduating class.
"They were just as excited as our class, as we were. They were in the front row and they were just thrilled. So, I think they're going to look forward to also having a big dig in 25 years when they do it," said Class of '87 member Suzanne Segebarth-Spencer.
The third grade class of 2012 hopes to have a similar event 25 years from now, but maybe with a few different items in the time capsule.
