Police: Drive-thru employee might have stolen credit card numbers

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Evansville Police say they believe an employee of a local restaurant might have been stealing credit card numbers from customers in the drive-thru.

Police say a worker at Grandy's at Diamond and 1st Avenue wrote down credit card numbers when customers paid at the drive-thru. A report says the suspect told another employee that she planned to buy clothes and shows using those stolen numbers. The report also says there is video footage of the suspect writing down those numbers.

"We know that she was transcribing these credit card numbers. So now, it's a matter of working to see when someone gets a charge on their credit card. So, this is a perfect opportunity, when people see this, to check their credit card and see if there are charges that don't belong there," said Karen Kajmowicz with the Evansville Police.

No arrests have been made as of yet.
