EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
Evansville Police have arrested a man on multiple charges that stem from a domestic dispute.
Officers say they responded to a report of domestic violence that was in progress. Officers arrived and saw 31-year-old Kristopher Sutton trying to pull a female victim out of a car.
Police officers say they told Sutton to step away from the car, but he refused. They say when officers attempted to separate Sutton from the victim, he pushed the officers and tried to run.
Police say Sutton struggled during arrest and also say two officers received minor injuries during the arrest.
Authorities say the victim told officers she had been in an argument with Sutton and she had called a family member to pick her up. When she got into the family member's car, Sutton reached inside and tried to pull her out. Her shirt was ripped during the altercation.
Sutton has been charged with battery with injury on law enforcement, domestic violence, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
