Some Henderson County students got a taste of the real world Friday.
Cairo Elementary K-through-fifth graders had a visit from around forty adults, teaching them about careers, from surgeons to firefighters, to cake decorators.
The school says they've had the event for third through fifth graders in the past, and extended it to younger kids this year to help them learn about skills they'll need later in the workplace.
"Getting along with people, technology, but mainly your attitude. How important an attitude is for whatever you do. So, that's one of the things that we know will make a difference in kids lives is how they see themselves being successful," said Cairo Elementary School Counselor Debby Wilson.
Cairo Elementary says the career day is an annual event.
