Newton accused of tying up and robbing 82 year old

Posted: Updated:

36-year-old Henry Lee Newton has been arrested in the home invasion of a senior citizen in April.

On April 13, 82-year-old James Moll was tied up and robbed in his home. The suspect took two debit cards from the victim, forced the elderly male to give him his PIN numbers, and threatened to kill him at gunpoint. He then left him tied up all night.

The suspect was identified from two different video surveillance locations, where he used the victim's stolen debit cards.

Newton was located on Wednesday at the Arrowhead Motel.  A  search warrant was obtained and executed.

Clothing that the suspect was seen wearing in the video was recovered from the search warrant as well as other possible evidence linking Newton to the crime.

It is believed Newton knew the elderly male from previous rental properties, which is why he targeted Moll.

Newton has been booked into jail for armed robbery, burglary and criminal confinement.

Newton's son was arrested, tried, and found guilty of a similar crime against an senior citizen. His name is Pharoah Newton and he beat and stabbed 79-year-old Frances Wolf to death in her First Street home in October of last year.
