Burns, Sorgho, Tamarack and West Louisville elementary schools want to give the young learner a great opportunity for success.
These DCPS elementary schools use a curriculum of Sing, Spell, Read, Write program, LIPS phonemic awareness, Second Steps Anti-Violence prevention, an introduction to the Spanish language, and much more!
The half-day preschool programs operate from approximately 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday each week. The cost for fee-based preschool is $175 monthly.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your placement. When registering, bring a certified copy of your child's birth certificate, their social security card and their Immunization Record.
Spots are also available for children with a disability in speech, social, learning or other areas. If you have any of these concerns, preschool is a great way to help your child.
- Receive instruction from a certified teacher trained in early childhood education
- Participate in all school activities, such as library, assemblies, etc.
- Eat breakfast or lunch daily (breakfast cost is $1.25…. lunch cost is $1.75 a day)
Bus transportation is available to those living within each school's district.
