It's National Women Build Week

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

It's National Women Build Week.

Habitat for Humanity took advantage of it by inviting women in public service to help build new homes in Evansville's Glenwood neighborhood.

City Councilwoman Connie Robinson, State Representative Suzanne Crouch, and the mayor's wife Carol McClintock put in new floors. Habitat hopes this event will recruit and train the next generation of women builders.

"As public servants, as public leaders, leaders in the community and the state, we need to be here supporting local projects especially those that benefit women," said Denise Johnson with the Evansville Parks Department.

Six habitat homes have been built by women in the recent years.
