FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

One teen remained hospitalized Sunday at Vanderbilt Medical Center after a golf cart smashed into a brick mailbox Wednesday, killing a 15-year-old Williamson County boy.

The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. along Lake Valley Drive, north of Franklin, TN.

The driver of the golf cart had put the vehicle in neutral as the group went down a steep hill, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.  The right rear tire blew out, causing the vehicle to spin, strike a brick mailbox and roll.

Ryan J. Tropauer, 15, a freshman at Franklin High School, was found dead at the scene.

Medical helicopters responded and transported the three injured teens to Vanderbilt Medical Center.  Those injured, all from Franklin, were identified as Brennan Roach, 16, and 15-year-olds Connor Hayes and Jeremy Chalfant.

Roach is in critical but stable condition.

Chalfant was treated and released Friday night.

Hayes was treated and released Wednesday night.
