HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

In Henderson on Wednesday, volunteers met to put up flags in honor of fallen Marine Lance Corporal Kyle Lawrence Westfall.

The 20-year-old was stationed in North Carolina and died April 30.

Larry Eckhart 'The Flagman' and a crew of volunteers lined the funeral procession route with a thousand flags.

"I just have such a respect for the men and women that are protecting us. I have a friend who's in Afghanistan now and I just feel so much for the family," said volunteer Sheila Reid. "I wanted to do something. We're returning the love they gave to sacrifice for us. I'm really proud of Henderson for the support."

Visitation is on Wednesday and there will be another visitation Thursday up until the funeral service which starts at 1:00 p.m. The service is at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.
