SealCorp USA expanding in Evansville, bringing new jobs

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

SealCorp USA, a company that manufactures sealants and adhesives, has announced that it is expanding in Evansville and will create new jobs.

"We have some business that we're waiting to produce for, but we don't have the space," said SealCorp President Ken Rust.

Rust says he realized six months ago that his company needed a larger facility. He began shopping around, even looking at space across the river in Kentucky. But it's a building on Diamond Avenue, where his family once owned a business that will allow his company to expand.

"We're going to move our entire manufacturing facility that we have now," said Rust.

The company will move from its five buildings in Daylight with 40,000 square feet to the former Adco building, that's 100,000 square feet and all under one roof.

"GAGE really has the right package to bring business in here and keep them here," said Rust.

"They gave us the chance to compete, to try to put together some incentives and the chance to try to put together something that will keep them in Evansville," said Debbie Dewey with GAGE.

SealCorp will get tax abatements and training grants. While the city gets the promise of 35 new jobs over the next five years, while retaining 47 workers already with the company.

"It speaks volumes about how quickly we can move and how nimble we work on economic development projects," said Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke.

The company plans to operate six product lines in this facility and invest over $2.5 million in new equipment. The projected economic impact this expansion could have in the Evansville area is said to equal nearly $434 million dollars over the next 10 years.

The average pay will vary depending upon experience and the position the employee is hired for. The average pay for all new positions will be $20 an hour. To apply for one of these jobs, head to the SealCorp website.
