Aligns with BittWare for maximum performance with iX-eCute
London, UK / Concord, NH (PRWEB) May 09, 2012
Fixnetix, global managed services provider for trading, market data and risk control, announced today they are the first fintech (financial technology) company in Europe to offer the Altera Stratix V FPGA on the BittWare PCI Express slot-cards. The Altera Stratix V FPGA with integrated 10GigE and BittWare PCIe Gen 3 slot card is ideal for iX-eCute, the Fixnetix FPGA firmware announced November 2010. iX-eCute is an execution solution available in both firmware and software, for nanosecond trading and pre-trade risk checks across multiple asset classes. BittWare PCI Express slot-cards are the hardware boards that iX-eCute operates on whilst Altera Stratix is the industry's highest performance FPGA with over 1 TeraFLOPS of processing. iX-eCute firmware deployment relies on minimal delays, significantly reduced jitter, energy and thermal requirements whilst commanding maximum performance per watt. BittWare offers a PCIe-compliant deployable slot-card that works out of the box, with validation, verification, and control software in place. iX-eCute on the BittWare board with Altera Stratix processing is now available for purchase through Fixnetix.
"We're pleased to be at the second phase of iX-eCute, our newly upgraded FPGA solution is now operating on the Altera Stratix V chips with 10 / 40 GigE and BittWare PCIe Gen 3 card," says Matt Dangerfield, Chief Technology Officer, Fixnetix. "With this increased functionality and improved latency for trading and risk control, Fixnetix is at the forefront of being able to respond to regulatory changes for our global customer base of banks, hedge funds and proprietary trading groups."
"Our S5-PCIe slot card combines the industry's highest performance FPGA - Altera's Stratix V - with on-board memory and multiple lanes of 10GigE straight to the FPGA, as well as support for 40GigE and PCI Express Gen 3," said Jeff Milrod, Chief Executive Officer at BittWare. "We are proud that our essential building blocks of board hardware and ATLANTiS FrameWork (AFW) IP including an optional TOE, has enabled Fixnetix to quickly create and deploy such a compelling and innovative solution for the fintech market."
Fixnetix, winner of the 2011 Deloitte Technology Fast50 UK, provides outsourced managed services across multiple asset classes to leading global banks, hedge funds and proprietary trading groups seeking ultra-low latency trading, market data, hosting, infrastructure connectivity and risk management solutions. The company is in 33 co-location and proximity hosting centres across Europe and the US and offers trading access to over 85+ markets. November 2011, Fixnetix won first place for the 2011 Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50, earned 2nd place in the Deloitte Technology 500 EMEA and placed fourth in the 11th annual Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table which ranks Britain's one hundred privately-owned technology, media and telecoms (TMT) companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years.
Fixnetix is one of the first companies to offer the FPGA for execution. The company announced late November 2010 a real-time low latency filter, iX-eCute, an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), to solve the eternal industry conundrum of pre-trade risk, compliance and ultra-low latency execution. iX-eCute opens the marketplace to all participants with no detrimental impact on trading performance with the necessary risk controls. iX-eCute enforces pre-market risks at nanosecond time frames whilst preventing impact on latencies that historically have slowed down more traditional trading systems and models. Unlike other solutions, the iX-eCute microchip has near zero impact on latency for governing the required checks directed by the recent SEC Rule 15c3-5 and anticipated declarations from other regulatory governing bodies. The FPGA is available and being utilised for execution with nic to nic times as low as 740 nanoseconds.

About BittWare, Inc.
For over two decades, BittWare has designed and deployed high-end signal processing board-level solutions that significantly reduce technology risk and time-to revenue for our OEM customers. Our solutions leverage the latest FPGA technology from Altera and our Anemone FPGA co-processing chip which reduces FPGA power and complexity by hosting C language aspects of a signal processing application. BittWare's solutions are based upon industry standard COTS form factors including PCIe, AMC, VPX / OpenVPX, VME / VXS, CompactPCI, PCI, XMC, FMC (VITA 57), and PMC. When power and space-constrained challenges make it difficult to use industry-standard boards, BittWare can provide modified solutions, licensed designs, and/or chip-level products for applications in the military/aerospace, high end instrumentation and telecommunications infrastructure markets.
