VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -
There were several highly contested races, including the 8th District Congressional seat and the race for County Clerk, in Vanderburgh County.
Both Republicans and Democrats are celebrating with many winners.
Chris Walsh won the Democratic Primary over Carl Culley, and Debbie Stucki won over Heather Zoss on the Republican ticket for County Clerk.
Alan Leibundguth won the Republican Primary for State Representative District 77 over Levon Dozier.
For the 8th District Congressional seat, this November Republican Larry Bucshon will face off against Democrat Dave Crooks.
"I'm proud of my responsible, conservative record and the work I've done to improve the lives of all Hoosiers. Which stands sharply in contrast to my Democratic opponent endorsement of President Barack Obama and the unwavering support of the president's failed policies," said Buschon.
"I believe when people go to the polls next time in November, they'll see a clear contrast between Larry Buschon and myself. Larry's the person who votes to end the medicare guarantee. He votes to give tax breaks to billionaires, millionaires and corporations who send our jobs oversees, and I simply think he's out of touch with the people of the 8th Congressional District," said Crooks.
There were also 5 precinct committeemen races, including one between a husband and wife and the wife won.
