Several comments and questions were posted on our 14 News and First Alert Facebook pages regarding storm sirens that went off Sunday afternoon around Hartford and Beaver Dam in Ohio County.
Dispatchers tell 14 News the sirens were activated after a weather spotter saw a possible funnel cloud near the Travel Center off of the Western Kentucky Parkway near Beaver Dam. No official warnings were ever issued by the Louisville National Weather Service for Ohio County.
Pictures of the possible funnel are certainly dramatic, but it's not completely clear if the storms were rotating. There has been no indication of a touchdown and no damage or injuries were reported.
