A rainy afternoon for the Kentucky Oaks. Even the infield evacuated because of strong storms, but that isn't dampening all the pre-derby fun.
The most moving moment of the day was the Survivors Parade. 138 women circled the track, along with their loved ones who were there to honor them, including celebrity and Today Show Legal Contributor, Star Jones.
"My friend Vanessa is one of the 138 walking in the Survivors Parade and they get to bring one person with them and she's asked me to walk with her so hence, the pink outfit, and I'm actually ready in case, God forbid, we should have rain. I've got my red rain boots," Jones said.
We had the chance to chat with Star earlier Friday on Millionaires Row. She also told us about her career as an author and one of her books will soon be made into a TV movie. You can get all the scoop in the entire interview on our website, and speaking of the web, we also caught up with Jenna Wolfe.
She's here covering derby weekend for the Today Show, which includes riding a horse and also finding a last minute derby hat.
