Hundreds of New Harmony School items up for auction

Posted: Updated:

Want to save a piece of New Harmony School history before the doors are closed?

It's now possible, and hundreds of items are now available to be purchased.

All you have to do is access the online auction through the school corporation's website, where it runs similar to an eBay-type website. There are over 700 items up for grabs. Memorabilia such as candles from some past proms, some teddy bears from the kindergarten classes and various kinds of uniforms from the different sports.

The money raised from the auction will go to the New Harmony School Foundation, which will support area students after the school closes.

Superintendent Fran Theole says these were items they simply found in storage at the school and they're anxious to find homes for these items.

"Any of these things would be good remembrances of their time here, when they played on those teams or when they participated in band or any other activities," Thoele said.

All of the items have a five dollar minimum and auctioneers 14 News spoke with Thursday say they expect there will be some bidding wars.
