There appears to be new plans for the former Riverhouse Hotel or at least the property.
On Tuesday, a former owner of the building is in federal custody accused of bank fraud, but tonight, it's current owner, Centra Credit Union says it's about to close on a deal within the month.
The Riverhouse has sat virtually empty for the last couple years. Centra bought back the former Riverhouse Hotel after it says its previous owner Todd Vannatta defaulted on his loan. He is now charged with eight counts of bank fraud in the case.
Centra won't say who's buying the property or what the buyer plans to do with it. Some say the building still tells a story while others think there's a better alternative.
"A lot of work. A lot of work. It might be better just to level it and put a garage or something there, because now with the Ford Center, there now they're going to need parking area," said Curits Turner.
