Two people injured in Muhlenberg collision

The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury collision that occurred on US 431 in Beechmont on Wednesday at approximately 9:40 a.m.  

The preliminary investigation revealed that 75-year-old Mary Doss of Belton, KY, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on US 431.  49-year-old Tonnette Cox of Dunmor, KY, was driving a 1987 Buick LeSabre southbound on US 431.  Ms. Doss attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot and turned into the path of Ms. Cox's vehicle.  The vehicles struck head-on in the southbound lane.

Ms. Cox was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment.  Ms. Doss sustained minor injuries, but was not transported.  Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.  There were no passengers in either vehicle.    

Trooper Jerrod Hearld investigated the collision.  The Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
