EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The West Side Nut Club awarded thousands of dollars to tri-state organizations at their Founders Day Banquet on Tuesday night.

The Nut Club raises the funds at the Fall Festival every October. They gifted more than $190,000 to 22 separate organizations.

West side high schools, Reitz and Mater Dei, each received $22,000. Nut Clubbers also awarded the equine therapy program, Riding Hope, $20,000. They provide services for children with special needs, and they're going to use their money to expand their facilities.

"We have had a number of children on our waiting list, about 20-25 at all times, and this money is going to help us to expand the size of our arena. We are planning to double the size of our arena," said Beth Tromley, the Executive Director of Riding Hope.

This will allow Riding Hope to provide services to more children.
