IN Attorney General's Office seizes documents from Specialty Hospital

Posted: Updated:
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Documents have been seized from an Evansville Specialty Hospital during a raid by the Indiana Attorney General's Office. But what the office is doing with those documents still remains a mystery.

Evansville Police say they were here only as support for the attorney general's office.

It was after one Tuesday afternoon that attorney general's deputies drove up to the front door at Select Specialty Hospital and went inside. Evansville Police say the attorney general's office was here to seize documents but wouldn't give anymore details.

We tried to contact the attorney general's office, but our calls were not returned. We're working to determine whether or not the hospital is in fact the focus of an investigation.

We spoke to a representative with the hospital this afternoon in Evansville, who told us he had no comment and referred us to the hospital's corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania.

A representative there would not say if the hospital is under investigation, but that they are working very hard gathering information at this time.

Investigators were inside for at least an hour Tuesday afternoon and it's unclear whether the events had any impact on hospital operations.

We expect more details to emerge in the coming days.
