EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
Evansville Police arrested 21 year old Eric Cox on Public intoxication and Disorderly Conduct charges after he allegedly fled from Casino Aztar security officers.
The security officers say they tried to speak with Cox because he was looking into cars in the Aztar parking garage. Cox ran towards the riverfront and went down the rock embankment.
EPD officers arrived and located Cox hiding in shrubbery halfway down the embankment. They say he refused to cooperate with officers and had to be carried back up the embankment. Cox, who officers believe was intoxicated, was taken to Deaconess Hospital for a medical evaluation prior to being booked into the jail.
While at the Emergency Room, officers say Cox was uncooperative with medical staff and was verbally abusive towards the doctor. They say his yelling was disruptive to the staff and the other patients.
At that point, he was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
