Earth Day Party Planned at Zoo

Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden has teamed up with Alcoa to present Party for the Planet, Sunday, April 22. 

Party for the Planet will take place at the Zoo from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.  This event is being held in recognition of Earth Day, focusing on green practices and showcasing what individuals can do take make a positive difference for the environment. 

Visitors will enjoy over a dozen fun activities, games, demonstrations, and giveaways from local nonprofit organizations, businesses, and sponsors.

A fun and interactive green puppet show, magic shows, live music, recycled art exhibits, and more, all themed for Earth Day, will take place throughout the event.  Event sponsor, Alcoa, will be giving away Indiana native trees to the first 200 attendees.

RC will be providing free fountain drinks to people who bring a reusable cup or bottle. The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive in the Zoo's parking lot during the duration of the event.  There will be a $1 discounted admission for visitors who bring in a cell phone to recycle.
