LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Kentucky Derby Festival officials revealed on Monday what it will take for the Belle of Louisville to bring home the coveted gilded antlers at the end of this year's Great Steamboat Race.
"For the fourth year in a row, the winner of the Great Steamboat Race will be determined by the number of points accumulated by the boat crews in a series of tasks that have to be performed on race day," said Mike Berry, Kentucky Derby Festival CEO.
Those tasks include inflatable jousting, an obstacle course and a bourbon barrel competition.
The Great Steamboat Race between the Belle of Louisville and the Belle of Cincinnati takes place on Wednesday, May 2.
