14 News has confirmed there was a medical run at a Five Star Mine in Pike County, Tuesday morning. It was Prosperity Mine ID#12-02249, between Princeton and Petersburg.
According to the Gibson County Sheriff's office, multiple ambulances responded to two patients. Air-evac was also sent to the scene.
We're told by the Mine Safety and Health Administration ,one miner has an ankle injury, the other has an injury to the collarbone, chest area. As of now, we don't know how serious these injuries are.
We're told a battery coal hauler struck a battery scoop. That scoop moved and trapped the miners between the scoop and a coal rib.
