A Kilgore man thinks he may have captured a real, unidentified flying object on camera.
Jose Rojas walked out to close his front gate Thursday night in Kilgore, when he saw a strange light in the western night sky.
"I saw it and it got bigger and bigger and started changing colors, in the middle it was red but the outside was like green," Rojas said.
He says the image was sometimes stationary, sometimes moving, and made no noise. As he shot video, Rojas knew he was seeing something that shouldn't have been there.
"My wife and I got surprised, then she got scared and she went inside. I've never seen something like this, it's different," Rojas said.
His thought was obvious.
"Aliens," Rojas stated.
"I've never seen anything like this before. I viewed it this morning, Jose showed it to me and I said, 'That's spooky,'" Rojas' co-worker Keith Davis said.
Within minutes it was gone, and Rojas is convinced he saw something unidentified.
We took the image to photographer Mark Bailey to analyze.
"It could be explained away that there was reflection in the camera--the lens itself. There could be an aperture, firing back into it. It looks as if there was something inside the image moving around," Bailey says.
But Rojas says the image was there before he got his camera.
"I've never seen anything that size before, or quite like the image before," Bailey said.
Rojas says he will be in his yard Thursday, with camera ready, in case the strange light reappears.
