Hobby turns into career for Evansville man

A home brew kit leads to a new beer business in Evansville.

Nick Davidson is opening the Tin Man Brewery on West Franklin Street.

Nick says he and his partners will brew what they call a "hometown beer" that will make Evansville proud.

The idea was born eight years ago when Davidson got a home brew kit as a gift and that hobby grew into a passion.

He sold his bar in Indianapolis, moved back to Evansville and started brewing beer in his garage.

Now that hobby is turning into a career.

"We're starting with five styles of beer, but this will be a production facility so we are going to put it in a can you will be able to go into a store and buy it. We will be in bars and liquor stores is the goal, said Davidson.

The new brewery will have a restaurant and is scheduled to open for business in late summer.
