A 2-year-old boy has drowned in a baptismal pool at an Indianapolis church.
Indianapolis Police Officers say daycare employees at the Praise and Worship Assembly of God found the unresponsive child in two feet of water in the pool Wednesday afternoon.
The child, who wasn't immediately identified, was declared dead at a nearby hospital.
The child wasn't discovered missing until his therapist arrived for a session and couldn't find him. The daycare employees then found him in the pool.
The daycare center has about eight employees and between 30 and 45 students of varying ages.
Police investigators from homicide and child abuse units are investigating the death. They don't suspect foul play but say the investigation is ongoing.
A telephone call seeking comment went unanswered at the church Wednesday.
