HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) -
It's not too late to gather a team or volunteer your time for Henderson County's Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kids' Sake.
The event is March 3rd at Henderson's Echo Lanes.
Bowl For Kids' Sake is the organization's signature fundraiser, which provides the necessary funds to match volunteers with children needing mentors. There are more than 55 children on a waiting list for a mentor.
"Funds raised at Bowl For Kids' Sake will be used to provide children on the waiting list with mentors," said Program Director of the Henderson Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, Greg Gibson. "Since Big Brothers Big Sisters does not receive funding from any governmental source, the success of this inaugural event is critical."
Presently there are over 600 bowlers registered to bowl on Saturday, March 3, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. In addition to bowling, there will be a DJ, prizes for the teams and individuals who raise the most money, and lots of door prizes.
