MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) -
The Transitional Care Unit at Madisonville's Trover Clinic is recognized with a five star ranking in a national report.
The US News and World Report found the facility to be one of the best nursing homes in the country.
This award is special because only around 10% of all facilities surveyed received five stars.
US News surveyed more than 15,500 homes across the nation and they're evaluated on several factors, including health inspections, nurse staffing, and overall care.
The Transitional Care Unit at RMC is a 20 bed facility that acts as a short term nursing home for patients.
The unit has also received two years in a row of zero deficiencies from annual state inspections.
Staff say they believe their efficiency in getting people in and out makes all the difference.
"I think that short term philosophy of care, we get you in, we focus on your rehab, and we get you home is different than a lot of homes here, or anywhere else," said Transitional Unit Administrator Jerry Robertson.
