Demolition will begin Thursday on the old West Side Walmart building in Evansville. It's been sitting empty for over six years.
The construction company said they'll begin tapping the water lines and structural demolition will follow.
The property is owned by Summit Real Estate.
They say right now, that there's no one lined up to build at the location.
Their hope is that a clean slate will make the area look nicer and make the property more attractive to potential businesses.
Representatives say that ideally there could be several options available. The options include putting in one major store or two or three smaller stores.
14 News will follow this project as it progresses.
