EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Elton John tickets went on sale at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning and there were hundreds of people waiting in line; but why are fans braving the cold when they can purchase tickets online?

By mid-morning, hundreds of fans had lined up for tickets, many preferring to brave the cold in line, rather than purchase the tickets online.

"I think sometimes it's just nostalgic to stand in line waiting to get your tickets, make you feel part of the concert and it is cheaper. There are no Ticketmaster fees so if it's $100, it's $100."

Ticket availability became scare in a matter of minutes, but good things came for those who waited.

"I got front row, center stage tickets," said fan Rick Barton.

A couple of tickets are still up for grabs.

Just log onto 14News.com, scroll down until you see "Win Elton John Tickets" on the right side of the page.

The winner will be drawn and contacted tomorrow.

The concert is Tuesday, March 20th.
