WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -
A Warrick County man faces several charges after detectives say he tried to lure two young boys into his car.
Joshua Bolin, 21, was arrested, but is now out of jail on bond.
Authorities say they were surprised the incident happened in broad daylight, in a busy store parking lot.
"It's a little disturbing that someone in the middle of the day would pull up to these young boys and attempt to try to lure them into the car for a sexual act," said Warrick County Sheriff's Lt. Lt. Mike Wilder.
Two new charges have been filed against Bolin.
Detectives say about two and a half weeks ago, Bolin, who they say had been drinking, tried to lure a 14-year-old boy and 13-year-old boy into his vehicle to have sex with him.
The report says it was around 2:30 p.m. and the boys were riding their bikes in the Walmart store parking lot.
"He just approached them, you know and solicited them for sex right there. They blew him off and tried to get away from him, he came back and asked them once again. At that time he saw them ride off on their bikes, and left them alone at that time," Wilder said.
The kids went into the store to call police and detectives say Bolin also went into Walmart.
"The boys were able to describe the man and his vehicle, they were underage boys, but they gave a real good description, that when officers got on the scene they were able to find the guy. They actually spotted him leaving the Walmart, they were able to point him out, and officers were able to approach him," said Wilder.
That day, January 22nd, authorities arrested Bolin and charged him with child solicitation, underage drinking and public intoxication, but now attempted sexual misconduct with a minor and attempted child molestation charges have been added.
"At a later time a detective was assigned and interviewed them with their parents present, just to get a better statement from them of exactly what happened, which led to the other charges being added on to the case," noted Wilder.
Wilder says Bolin also faces a previous stalking charge.
Bolin is out on bond and is expected to appear in court, where they will read him those additional charges.
