Greater Indiana Clean Cities Coalition will host a workshop titled CNG: Pullin' The Load, which will cover the basics of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as it relates to medium and heavy-duty vehicles for fleets.
The workshop will take place Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CST at Vectren's corporate headquarters, One Vectren Square, Evansville, IN.
Today, natural gas powers more than 100,000 vehicles in the United States and roughly 11.2 million vehicles worldwide. The advantages of natural gas as an alternative fuel include its domestic availability, widespread distribution infrastructure, low cost compared to gasoline and diesel fuel and clean-burning qualities.
Clean Cities is a U.S. DOE sponsored program promoting alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) and fuels at the grassroots level to improve our nation's air quality and lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Greater Indiana (formerly Centeral Indiana or CICCA) was designated as a Clean Cities Coalition in 1999.
