Posted: Updated:

Less than three months after announcing a major expansion a western Kentucky business is laying off workers.

Carhartt plans to lay-off about 150 employees in the next few weeks. 32 employees have already been notified of the lay-off.

Richard Linville, Carhartt's Vice President of Distribution told 14 News warmer weather this winter is one reason for the cuts. Another reason for cutting back, Linville says, is that this is "not a busy time of year" for the company.

Carhatt normally employees 700 workers at their facility in Hopkins County.

Linville says the company hopes to rehire most of the laid-off workers at the end of summer.
