Roberts Stadium Task Force meets Saturday

The second Roberts Stadium Task Force meeting met Saturday morning to receive ideas on the future of the stadium.

Over a hundred people gathered Saturday morning for a tour of the stadium.

Those attending were broken down into five discussion groups, making lists of what they most value about the aging facility, and how they'd like to see it put to use.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke tells 14 News that holding the meeting on-site made it more emotional.

"I think this building has a lot of very fond memories for a lot of folks. They have had their first dates in this building, many of them have just very fond memories of an Aces game or a Shrine Circus."

Evansville-Vanderburgh Building Authority records show costs over $73,000 to keep the facility up and running since mid-September.
