MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) -
Madisonville Mayor David Jackson will talk about updating facilities and programs with the minority community Thursday night at 6: 00 p.m., and he'll be taking questions from the audience.
One of the main topics at Thursday's meeting will be on the renovations to the Larry Carney Center.
Over the past several months, the building has been studied by local organizations to make improvements on the community center located on Martin Luther King Jr Way.
There's been talks of updating the bathrooms and making the building more handicapped accessible, while also making it more of an educational focused center.
The Concerned Citizens Society is sponsoring the event and says this is an opportunity for residents with concerns or general comments to speak to the mayor.
"I feel like, as mayor, I need to hold myself accountable to all of the citizens of Madisonville in any public forum that I can while I'm mayor so they can ask questions, so they can find out what we've done and what we're going to do in the future," Jackson said.
The forum starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Larry Carney Center and the public is invited to attend.
