The fate of Roberts Stadium is being discussed Thursday night.
A task force is starting the process of determining whether to tear the stadium down or come up with other uses for the building.
Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke formed this 15 member task force. They are meeting to get to know each other Thursday night.
Winnecke says he's opposed to running a venue that would compete with the Ford Center, leaving Roberts Stadium to be reinvented or torn down.
This task force will not be voting on ideas or say one idea is better than another.
What they will do is say which ideas are feasible and which are not.
"People have lots of ideas. Our job is to sort them out and give them to the mayor with enough information so he can make his mind up," said Task Force Chair Larry Steenberg.
Thursday night, they are expected to set up the framework and times for their future meetings.
It is also believed they will set up a place where people leave their suggestions for the stadium.
