HARDIN CO, KY (NBC) -

Two people are dead after a fire in central Kentucky. The fire broke out around 7 a.m. Monday in Rineyville in Hardin County.

Crews spent a good part of the morning trying to put out the fire.

According to a woman on the scene of the fire, her mother and her mother's boyfriend lived in the home. The woman said everything was fine when she visited late Sunday night.

By the time firefighters arrived, it was too late. It took hours to put out the flames.

"Anytime wind introduces oxygen into the scene it makes it hectic, tough on our staff here on scene, as well," said deputy fire marshal Chris Crawford.

FirefighterS knew early on that one person had died. Around 9 a.m. when they were finally able to get inside the house, they found a second body.

The victims' identities have not been released, and the cause of the fire has not been determined.
